Where design meets entrepreneurship — shaping the North since 2005

Hamburg

The Hamburg location of the Rent.Group is a place where creativity and development go hand in hand. Since 2005, Hamburg has served as the logistical hub of the North and as a driver of new products, smart processes, and a modern team culture. Ideas take shape here, in collections, concepts, and digital tools. What begins in Hamburg often reaches far beyond the city limits, influencing the entire group.
As one of the Rent.Group’s earliest partner companies, Hamburg has always had a sharp eye for atmosphere and a deep understanding of the needs of creative industries. The team here has been pioneering from the start: product development, design expertise, process automation — many innovations used across Europe today originated in Hamburg.

Christoph Bernard

Since 2004, Christoph Bernard has been part of the Rent.Group – and since 2005, co-founder of the Hamburg location. What began as a one-person office in a dining room has grown, through his energy and eye for design, into a key hub within the network.

Today, as Head of Product, he oversees the group-wide product portfolio: from chairs to cake forks, every innovation eventually lands on his desk. Together with the design team, he develops collections that create impact – functional, stylish, and built for the future. His work is defined by a deep understanding of atmosphere and a drive to always think one step ahead.

Managing Partner, Rent.Group Hamburg

Jan-Willem Roes

Jan-Willem Roes joined the Rent.Group in 2003, driven by a desire to shape something entrepreneurial. Together with Christoph Bernard, he founded the Hamburg location and helped build it from the ground up.

His focus: digitalisation and efficiency. He played a key role in developing the group-wide warehouse management system — a project that, through RFID technology, made logistics processes more transparent and streamlined.

In leadership, he brings a modern mindset: a strong working atmosphere, individual development, and entrepreneurial thinking within the team are at the heart of his approach.

Design that lasts

As the Product Hub of the group, Hamburg is where new collections take shape, materials are tested, prototypes refined, and design lines sharpened. The goal: products that stand the test of time, adapt to any setting, and combine contemporary aesthetics with logistical efficiency. Together with internal teams, designers, and international manufacturers, the Hamburg team develops standards that influence the entire European network. Its closeness to day-to-day practice, deep market understanding, and drive for innovation make Hamburg a key engine behind the group’s product strategy.
